[1ST] - The first appearance of things in Doctor Who series.
[NEW] - Things that first appeared previously in the new series.
[OLD] - Things that first appeared in the classic series (or the film.)  Episode List.
[INJ] - An in-joke.

  • [NEW]  2006 - Six month later and still visiting 2006.
  • [NEW]  Platform One - From "The End of the World."
  • [1ST]  Justicia & Glass Pyramid of San Kaloon - First mention of these places.
  • [NEW]  Blaidd Drwg - One final reference before the episode of that name.
  • [INJ]  Good at teleports - Another reference to "The End of the World."
  • [INJ]  Sound like a Welshmen - More jokes at the expense of Wales.
  • [OLD]  Tribophysical - Sarah Jane Smith mentioned Tribophysics in the Fourth Doctor story "Pyramids of Mars."  The other words are newish technobabble.

  • [OLD]  Wine - This isn't the first time he has had wine.  In fact, the Third Doctor appeared to be a bit of an expert.

  • [OLD]  Steak - After the events of the Sixth Doctor story, "The Two Doctors," the Sixth Doctor decided to become a vegetarian.  This, obviously, is no longer the case.
  • [1ST]  Women Wept - First mention of this place.
  • [OLD]  Heart/Soul of the TARDIS - Called "The Time/Space Element" a number of times in the Fifth Doctor era and "The Eye of Harmony" in Doctor Who (the film) - although that had previously been only on Gallifrey.

The 10 Rules to Doctor Who.

10.  TARDIS:  The TARDIS is used to travel to travel to the time of the story (has already arrived and needs refueling).  Blon's backup plan involves destroying it, but it defeats her.  [.5]
9.  Meeting Yourself:  Nobody tries.  [X]
8.  Non-sequiturs:   Yes.  [1]
7.  Serious/Frivolous:  Shows aspects of both personality.  [1]
6.  Series Final:  This is not a series final.  [X]
5.  Companion:  Rose, contemporary British female.  Jack, future human.  (Comtempoary British (Welsh) story).  [.5]
4.  Emotionless:  Blon has emotions and tries to use them for manipulation. [X]
3.  Title Spoilers:  Blon, revealed pretty quickly and not by the title, although her plan to blow up Cardiff is referenced in the title.  [.5]
2.  The Threat:  Blon's plan to blow up Cardiff is revealed and discovered quickly.  Her back-up plan is revealed at the end but the Doctor realises immediately that it is doomed.  [.5]
1.  Last of It's Kind:  No last of their kind, besides the Doctor, although Blon claims to be the last of her family.  [.5]

Score:  4.5/7.
